As a mom, is there any greater beauty than peering into the face of your precious child?
Of softly caressing their tender skin?
Of feeling their heartbeat as they sleep in your arms?
Of hearing their giggles as they enjoy the simplest things in life?
The sheer awe I feel when I look at my children is sometimes enough to bring me to my knees and bow before the Creator of such amazing and awesome beauty.
The details on their face, their silky soft hair, their pudgy feet, the sparkle in their eyes, their pink cheeks…….could they be any more wonderfully made?
And God has entrusted these precious children to me. He has left them in my care. It is beyond comprehension. Me. Broken, sinful, stubborn, prideful me.
I don’t deserve such a gift but He gave the gift of motherhood to me anyways. Just as He freely gave me the gift of salvation that I am not deserving of.
Motherhood has changed me. It has brought me closer to my Savior as I cling to Him on those days when I think motherhood might break me. As I work on developing a relationship with Him so that I can be an honest example to my children of what life looks like when Christ is at the center of it.
I am a work in progress and I will be until my time on earth comes to an end. But motherhood makes me want to be the best me that I possibly can be.
Motherhood is harder than I ever imagined, but the rewards are innumerable.
Sometimes I look at my children and feel such great love that I think my heart might burst. And just think…..that’s how Christ feels about us. How is it even possible? But it is. His love is unconditional and never ending.
The love we feel for our children is just a tiny glimpse into the love He has for us. Amazing.
While we gaze at our children and see such awesome beauty, God looks at us and sees His most beautiful creation.
As you celebrate this Mother’s Day I pray that you are filled with awe at the beautiful gift that motherhood is. I pray for a day of peace as you enjoy the precious children entrusted to you. And most of all, I pray that you feel Christ’s love for you in an amazing way.
Keep on keeping on, momma! You are wonderfully made!!
May you be blessed by this song “Wonderfully Made” from the Hidden In My Heart, Volume II, A Lullaby Journey Through Scripture CD.
If you enjoy the song, I highly recommend you check out the Hidden In My Heart CDs. The music is full of God’s promises and is beautiful.
We have the first volume of Hidden In My Heart and it is one of my favorites CD and it is not lullaby music that is just for babies. In fact, I didn’t get ours until our twins were 2 years old and I probably listen to it more than the kids anyways.
Not only is the music beautiful, but since many of the songs have words that come straight out of Scripture, when I listen to it a feeling of calm and peace washes over me. There are definitely days when I need that. I’m so glad to have found this music and you can see from all the five-star reviews on Amazon that many other people feel the same way.
Psalm 139:14 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” (KJV)
Beautiful! Brought tears to my eyes. Happy Mother’s Day!
