Do your kids love Pete the Cat? Ours too! We’ve read Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons many times and the kids always love it. So I put together a few simple but fun Pete the Cat activities for them to enjoy.

Decorate Pete’s Shirt with Felt
I cut a shirt shape out of piece of felt and invited the girls to decorate it with felt buttons. They counted the number of buttons, compared button sizes and overall just enjoyed the process of placing those buttons where ever they wanted.
I couldn’t find the exact ones I purchased online but there are other options on Amazon . Otherwise, you could just cut out circular felt pieces and use those.
I found a pack of beautiful buttons at Goodwill and the girls were so excited to string them. They girls also dug their hands in the bowl of buttons and played with them a variety of other creative ways, such as using them as payment for their store and also putting them in rows and organizing them.
You can find mixed button packs on Amazon.
