It’s official. We have started the 2013-2014 school year and are off and running. I love the smiles on these precious little faces as they are excited and eager to begin learning new things. They were most excited about Ziggy the Zebra, a puppet that is part of the All About Reading Pre-Reading program. I think he was the highlight of the day. I didn’t get any photos of him since it’s difficult to snap pictures of a puppet that is stuck to one of your hands but I’ll work on that so you can see how wonderful he is (yes, he is awesome).
We had a very full day today and it was all good, well, mostly good. I’m working on getting a handle on the new curriculum materials and also trying to get more organized. But I feel confident that things will really come together over the next couple of weeks.
Here’s a peek into the latter part of the day. During free-time Tootsie Pop chose to build with Wedgits and Snootz chose to read some books out of the basket of Alligator books (more on that later this week).
We also made milk paint today and each child created a couple of paintings with that. I will give you the details and recipe in a separate post.
